Poor Willie of the wonky chocolate factory fame! He'd made this gorgeous looking truffly Cloud Forest Chocolate Cake , which you'd think would guarantee instant popularity at any social gathering. But when the chocolate connoisseurs took their seats at the round table, it became apparent that other priorities took place in the serious business of chocolate evaluation...

 

Is it just me, or was this week's 'Willy's Wonky Chocolate Factory ' a bit more controversial than usual?

 

I'm not talking about 15th century Aztec drinks (an interesting but unlikely choice!), or the connoisseur chocolate purists (more later) - what really shocked me was the bailiffs.

 

Can't think why, but something's giving me a chocolate craving on Sunday nights... Could it be the gradual emergence of Willie's Wonky Chocolate Factory on Channel 4? 

 

Like a chocolatey cross between the River Cottage and The Apprentice, this fascinating show follows chocolate enthusiast Willie and his family through (so far) setting up a cacao plantation in Venezuela, a chocolate milling factory near Tiverton, a sales presentation at Selfridges and a farmers' market in Cullompton.
