Lots of cake slices on plates around the cake stand
Slices like these will go to guests (though you'll probably get some to take home too!), but there will be lots left over from earlier stages of work on the cake
As you level and trim your cakes, you'll probably find you've got odd bits left over...


Don't throw them out: there is something wonderful you can do with them! For the time being, put leftover sauce and ganache in airtight tubs in the fridge. Put leftover sponge cake wrapped in tinfoil in the freezer.

Once you've got the wedding cake out of the way, you can defrost, crumble and mix these together (use your judgment!).
