| About Me and the Cake |
![]() Me and the cake :) These pages describe how I made a chocolate mocha wedding cake for my brother's wedding, with step by step instructions. "Have you got any experience or qualifications in that?" a friend asked me (thanks!).Well no, not remotely. My brother and sister bravely asked me to make chocolate cakes for their weddings. Having little idea of what was involved, I agreed to the first one and fiddled about with raspberries in between the wedding and the reception. Aren't raspberries often out of stock and likely to drip red juice everywhere?Yes. I don't know what I was thinking the second time round, but I made sure there would be no fruit to arrange at the reception. The result was this Chocolate Mocha Wedding Cake. Chocolate Mocha Wedding Cake? That sounds truly fabulous. It was a luscious cake, and the result of a long process of trial and error. There were moments of sheer panic, and it wasn't as perfect as I would have liked. But everyone seemed to like it (especially Uncle Bruce, who had 4 pieces!) and the experience of producing the cake for such a special day is something I wouldn't have missed for the world. ![]() This is how it ends up - Look, cake! |
