How to Make Chocolate Ice Cream Cool, delicious chocolate ice cream with a hint of cinnamon. This recipe was created long ago but should still suit modern tastes.
 Chocolate Ice Cream: make your own! Ingredients - 1 quart cream
- 1 pint milk, use whole milk for extra richness
- 1/2 pound of sugar
- 4 ounces of chocolate
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or 1/4 of a vanilla bean
- 1/4 of a teaspoon cinnamon
Steps - Grate the chocolate.
- Place the grated chocolate into a double boiler.
- Add the milk.
- Mix and cook until hot.
- Add 1 pint cream, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon to mixture in double boiler.
- Chill.
- Freeze in ice cream maker.
- Whip remaining pint of cream until stiff.
- Remove dasher from ice cream maker.
- Fold in whipped cream.
- Freeze until ready to serve.
- Serves about 10 people.
